AIP didn't start in a boardroom. It started with a question we kept asking ourselves: why does it take so long, cost so much, and feel so risky to fund infrastructure projects that Africa so desperately needs?
Having worked across governments, financial institutions, and development organisations on both sides of the deal table — as project sponsors, advisors, and researchers — we saw the same problem repeat itself across every country and every sector. The projects existed. The capital existed. But the system to connect them reliably, credibly, and at scale did not.
AIP was founded by Vamo and Bintu — two young Africans who grew up witnessing the daily consequences of infrastructure gaps firsthand. Unreliable power. Inadequate water. Roads that isolated communities from opportunities. These weren't abstract policy problems. They were the reality of the continent we call home.
That personal connection drives everything we do. Every project we verify, every deal we facilitate, and every investor we bring to the table is a step closer to the Africa we know is possible — connected, prosperous, and built to last.
Our leadership team is made up of young Africans who combine world-class research expertise, hands-on infrastructure finance experience, and deep local market knowledge. We don't just understand Africa's infrastructure gap. We've lived it.
Vamo brings over two decades of experience in African infrastructure finance and project structuring, advising governments and private sponsors across energy, infrastructure, and digital sectors across sub-Saharan Africa — including Guinea, Senegal, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Niger, and Rwanda.
